9th Medication Safety Conference

The 9th Medication Safety Conference once again built on improving patient safety in the region by focusing on human factors and parenteral medication safety. This highly anticipated event took place on the 4th – 6th November, 2016 in Abu Dhabi UAE.

The 9th Medication Safety Conference was supported by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), The International Medication Safety Network (IMSN) and The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada & America (ISMP). Based on previous successes, the event will host over 1,200 delegates from the GCC and surrounding regions, including pharmacists, physicians, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals devoted to patient safety and in particular medication safety best practices.










8th Medication Safety Conference

The 8th installment of the Medication Safety Conference introduced a ‘Nursing’ session in addition to Medication Safety, Pharmacy Practice and Community Pharmacy streams. The stream added exceptional value to the conferences’ scientific programme. 

Amongst the respected names were our keynote speaker Dr. Paul Abramowitz, President of the American Society for Health-System Pharmacists, and Jeannell Mansur is JCR’s Practice Leader for medication safety for Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commission International, amid many other highly renowned speakers from North America, and the Middle East region.

The most attended medication safety learning platform in the region this November at the 8th Medication Safety Conference which will be chaired by Dr. Hashem Tarifi, Department Manager of Drug and Medical Products at Health Authority Abu Dhabi.










7th Medication Safety Conference

The 7th instalment of the Medication Safety Conference attracted over 1000 delegates hence positioning it as the most attended medication safety and pharmacy practice forum regionally. We have introduced a session dedicated to education and research, which added an exceptional value to the conferences’ scientific programme. 

In line with our vision and commitment towards advancing the quality and safety of healthcare provision in the region through continuing medical education and professional development, we have identified significant interest in the field of research, based on our conference evaluation analysis.










6th Medication Safety Conference

The 6th Medication Safety Conference focused on improving patient safety in the region while embarking on cutting-edge pharmacy practices. Supported by Abu Dhabi Health Service Company PJSC (SEHA), this highly event was held on November 22nd - 24th, 2013 at Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The scope of the conference was set to increase exponentially as it achieved to expand across multiple pharmaceutical disciplines by introducing, for the first time, a Pharmacy Practice Stream to run alongside its Medication Safety Programme. This new addition will serve as an opportunity for pharmacists to learn from the world’s most renowned speakers, as they provide key updates, scientific and technological advancements made in pharmacy practice. 

Based on the sound success of previous Medication Safety Conferences, the 6th Medication Safety Conference attracted over 1000 delegates devoted to patient safety and in particular, medication safety best practices. Featured an exhibition showcasing the latest in pharmaceutical advancements and innovations, the conference will be a ground for interaction for healthcare professionals, including, but not limited to; pharmacists, medical and nursing staff, hospital management, healthcare.










5th Medication Safety Conference 

With the support from the Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. PJSC (SEHA) the 5th Medication Safety Conference again embarked on a campaign to improve patient safety in the region. Chaired by Dr. Ali Al Obaidli, Group Chief Officer Clinical Affairs, Abu Dhabi Health Service Company PJSC( SEHA), this highly anticipated event was held from 15th - 17th November 2012 in Abu Dhabi. Reaching yet another milestone, the 5th Medication Safety Conference ran alongside the International Medication Safety Network (IMSN) Annual Meeting for the first time in the Middle East.

Based on its previous successes, the 5th Medication Safety Conference attracted over 1000 pharmacists, physicians, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals devoted to patient safety and in particular medication safety best practices from all corners of the world.

A faculty of distinguished international and regional speakers converged on the country's capital that provided delegates with up-todate research and strategies to both increase delegates' awareness of critical safety issues and share top-quality scientific material. 

The 5th Medication Safety Conference 2012 will be a ground for interaction for the best healthcare specialists, public & private hospital managements, specialists in healthcare quality, pharmacists, representatives from pharmaceutical companies & contract research organizations, nurses and medical professionals from all over the World.
